Quintessentials Is About People
Quintessentials is a unique kitchen and bath store which has been open since 1988. It is owned and operated by David Landis a native New Yorker with strong ties to the community.
Located on the corner of 86th Street and Amsterdam Avenue on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, Quintessentials is at the epicenter of an area known for it's beautiful old apartments and ongoing renovation projects. Prior to Quintessentials' opening, there was no local place to see or purchase the wide variety of finer items which are perfect for these renovations. The store began as a place for contractors, builders, homeowners, architects and designers, numerous in the area, to see what was available for their projects. As our reputation for knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and substantive service grew, so did our client base and our need for more space. What started out as a small store grew into a large, multi-level corner store, across the street from our original location. In addition, the area we service has grown. Quintessentials is no longer exclusively local but we can and do ship anywhere. Our advice and products are available by telephone and through this web site. Everything Including The Kitchen SinkQuintessentials is a two level showroom with the upstairs devoted to full kitchen displays featuring cabinets by Woodmode, Brookhaven, Plain & Fancy, Lescare, Paris, Stylecraft and Decora as well as Corian, granite and other counter top materials, appliances, kitchen sinks, faucets, water filters and many extras. Downstairs is our extensive bath and hardware department which includes faucets, accessories, medicine cabinets, shower doors, whirlpool tubs, working shower head displays, pedestal sinks, console sinks, vanity tops and much, much more. We pride ourselves on our knowledge of what is available, what is new and cutting edge and what is appropriate for your budget and style and on our ability to get those items to you. We have a large inventory in our downtown Manhattan warehouse, which is available for immediate pick up or for your convenience, we offer a delivery service. We also ship anywhere. Those items that we do not have in stock we can and will get for you. If you are in need of something fast, we will do our best to locate it and get it to you with expediency. We pride ourselves on our friendly, cooperative and knowledgeable service. As was said before "We are all about people." This is the foundation the store was opened on and it holds true 12 years later. Customer Support is Our Top PriorityUnlike many other stores where you can never find a manager, much less an owner, David is always available in the store or at our warehouse to answer questions or provide advice to customers, as well as to provide support to our expert staff. Quintessentials offers in-house kitchen design services; gives free initial consultations and estimates by our trained, professional staff; as well as trade discounts to designers, architects and contractors. We pride ourselves on our ability to give each and every customer personal and professional service. Whether you are a professional builder, designer or homeowner, you will receive the courtesy, information and products you require. Prior
to opening the store, David had many years of experience as a General Contractor
specializing in high-end apartment and kitchen renovations in New York City.
Much of his knowledge comes from being out in the field working with many
different brands and styles of cabinets, plumbing, appliances and hardware
available for renovation projects.
